Pressure washing is a great way to clean many things that it would be extremely difficult without the combination of high pressure, a large volume of water and specific cleaning chemicals.  Here in Portland Oregon mildew and mold grow on concrete, wooden decks, steps and other surfaces often making them very slippery.

Here are some of the pressure washing services we offer:

Wood/Composite Deck Cleaning

In the Pacific Northwest it is essential to do the proper bi-yearly maintenance on your deck to prevent it from deteriorating.  This includes pressure washing off all the mildew that grows on the deck and causes it to be slippery.  We use high quality deck cleaners to clean the mildew and grime off your deck.  Also ask us about refinishing your deck every 12-24 months to keep it in top shape.

Here is a deck that was slippery because of the mildew that was one it.
We cleaned and re-sealed it with a high quality oil-based stain.

Concrete Cleaning

Mildew and moss grow out of porous concrete and often create a slippery surface that isn't safe to walk on.  Pressure washing this off is essential to maintaining the safety and beauty of your concrete driveway, walkway or sidewalk.

What about this white stuff on my concrete?

Often in a basement made of cinder-block, a garage, or on a concrete wall you will find a white substance seeming to grow out of the wall.  This is called efflorescence and is often a mere aesthetic concern.  There are two types of efflorescence.  The most common is called primary efflorescence and is caused by water moving through the brick, stone or concrete.  As the water moves through and evaporates it leaves salts which are not normally part of the concrete bonding material behind.  This causes the white crystal-like substance on the surface.

Here is an example of primary efflorescence

Primary efflorescence is most often cleaned with an acid to remove it.  If there is not much efflorescence vinegar will work.  If the efflorescence is extensive phosphoric acid is recommended.  Then the area should be washed with a diluted detergent to neutralize it and then rinsed well with water.  It is important to address the cause of the water--if that is not taken care of the efflorescence may come back.

We clean concrete, brick and cinder-block of efflorescence using phosphoric acid or vinegar.  Feel free to contact us for a free quote!
